Early Release?

RIP beloved hairdryer. I caved and went to Target today to rescue myself from towel dried hair. (Believe me, it is scary looking!) So I did my Back to School Target run 11 days early. Never fear: My 12 step plan will continue! I pledge today to not return to Target again for one month. You heard it here first. I can return to Target on September 6th, which also happens to be my birthday.

After this Sunday, 16 more days ... You didn't think I could do it, did you?

Holy Glue Sticks Batman!

6 glue sticks for $1. Do you know how much glue we chew through at our house? I have 3 weeks left of Target Detox! Gotta. Be. Strong.

2 Months Down!

Will I make it one more full month? Where will I find a box of 24 Crayola crayons for $.25? Or two glue sticks for $.25? Or folders for $.15? Any great tips? (I am soooo not going to Walmart either.)

Cheating?

If my child is sick, is it ok to go to the Target pharmacy? Bummer. Summer ear infections suck.

Target "Work Arounds"

So I needed to get some swimsuits to donate to a local summer program? Logical place to go = Target. But, today marks one month spent in Target Detox! So logical place to go = no go. I am quite proud of my Target "work around". I printed a 15% off coupon and headed to The Children's Place. There is a location close to me that is NOT IN A MALL so I can easily take the kiddos along for the ride. To my delight, I found two pairs of swimtrunks that were 60% off -- only $5 per pair. I spend $9.24 total. No Target extras, no Target temptation.

Look but don't touch ...

Is is cheating to look at the online weekly ad? Just to see what I am "missing"?

So do I miss Target?

I can't say that I miss Target. Yet. Should I? Any great Target finds out there? Anyone else checking in to Target Detox this week?

Are you crazy? And other phrases I hear when I say Target Detox

It is a little crazy to give up Target for three months. Can I blame my hard headed Irish-German-Catholic heritage? After all, my Dad ended up becoming a lifelong vegeterian after taking a bet that he would not eat meat for a year. 35 years later and counting for him. Stubborness is in my DNA. So, yes, it is a little bit crazy to enter Target Detox for three months. But a good kind of crazy. A save me $300 or so crazy. So why not be a little crazy every once in a while?
