Target "Work Arounds"

So I needed to get some swimsuits to donate to a local summer program? Logical place to go = Target. But, today marks one month spent in Target Detox! So logical place to go = no go. I am quite proud of my Target "work around". I printed a 15% off coupon and headed to The Children's Place. There is a location close to me that is NOT IN A MALL so I can easily take the kiddos along for the ride. To my delight, I found two pairs of swimtrunks that were 60% off -- only $5 per pair. I spend $9.24 total. No Target extras, no Target temptation.

Look but don't touch ...

Is is cheating to look at the online weekly ad? Just to see what I am "missing"?

So do I miss Target?

I can't say that I miss Target. Yet. Should I? Any great Target finds out there? Anyone else checking in to Target Detox this week?

Are you crazy? And other phrases I hear when I say Target Detox

It is a little crazy to give up Target for three months. Can I blame my hard headed Irish-German-Catholic heritage? After all, my Dad ended up becoming a lifelong vegeterian after taking a bet that he would not eat meat for a year. 35 years later and counting for him. Stubborness is in my DNA. So, yes, it is a little bit crazy to enter Target Detox for three months. But a good kind of crazy. A save me $300 or so crazy. So why not be a little crazy every once in a while?

Do you need a Target Timeout?

Is too much of a good thing still a good thing? Is Target your therapy? Do you go to Target with plans to get a few essentials but come home with a full cart?

Maybe it is time for a Target Timeout? A self imposed exile from everyone's favorite big box store? A stint in Target Detox?
